Leave it to that classic dynamic duo (Andrew and Joe) to steer an otherwise lighthearted podcast into a dark place. The twosome spend this episode going over the FCC’s Net Neutrality repeal (you know, the one that’s going to potentially threaten ease-of-acces to just about everything you care about on the internet), a topic we felt we needed to discuss due to the impact it could have on our industry and the country at large. It’s not all gloom and doom, though — we still talk about those good, good video games.
Besides the aforementioned FCC chat, we discus Andrew’s very scary weekend in Dallas covering competitive Call of Duty — if you missed the news, there were two seperate bomb scares on two out of the three days the tournament took place. Don’t worry, though! Our boy is safe and sound. We follow that up with a discussion of the Nintendo Switch’s port of Yooka-Laylee, a game designed in the image of Rare’s old-school platformers. How does the port hold up? Listen to the show and stop trying to cheat, okay? We wrap up Episode 018 by discussing and suggesting Game of the Year reform. Lets start approaching things a little different, shall we? All that and more on today’s show.
